About the project
idealo is one of Europe's largest price comparison platforms. Its brand team set out to make its advertising more relevant: showing shoppers the specific products they were already looking for, across every market idealo operates in.
That was never a technology goal. It was a brand goal the team could not reach at the volume it needed, because every asset depended on a film shoot. We partnered with idealo's brand team to build the platform that removed that dependency.
The Challenge
Relevance at scale was out of reach. Every video came from a shoot, which meant idealo could only advertise the products it had already filmed, in one market at a time. Producing an asset for each product was not a budget question, it was a physical impossibility.
The brand team owned the strategy but had no engineering capacity of its own.
Legal added a further constraint. The product shown on screen could not be an exact copy of the real one, so the product shot could not simply be dropped into a video. Whatever we built had to work for marketers from day one, with no technical team behind it.
The Solution
The platform gives idealo an automated way to produce social content at scale from nothing more than a product on its own website.
A marketer feeds in the product, the platform fetches its image, and an LLM turns that image into a prompt that recreates the product for a video model.
Every generated video passes through a QA loop before it reaches the user, who reviews the batch, approves what works, discards what does not, and exports the approved set straight to a CSV for bulk import into the ad platforms.
Prompt variables control the market, so a single product can be produced for several audiences without a new shoot.
